There is something in the past the holds back our Marriage

I believe that there is always something in the past that can hold back marriage. Yet I also believe that there are more possiblities to change them for the better. Altering the way we think is one possibility to understand my marriage today and how I can make things for the better. Thought the article I read is not yet at its final stage and I will be glad to read the complete copy sometime in the future, I am glad to have at least an understanding why marriage could be like heaven and why it can be like hell in many instances.

I love to make things better for our marriage. It is kind of hard… but I know we can do it. Just have to change the way I think and accept blessings everyday in my life.

Marriage is what I have to nurture right now, and this is what i have to nurture till the end.

Abundant Blessings: We All Want Them

We want and need blessings in our life, especially when we go into marriage. In marriage we just don’t want blessings to come; we need blessings to happen. And not just blessings; we need abundant blessings—be it in finances, good health, peace of mind, commitment, happiness, perseverance, and patience.

Let us start with finances, we need abundant financial blessings in marriage. The moment we step into marriage, we altogether open up opportunities as well as open up the valve from our financial tank to flow out from us; this is expenses. We spend more after marriage than before marriage. Why?

More obligations and responsibilities, more dreams, more things to spend on. we have to spend for our spouse (wants and wishes including), for our children if they have any (even the not so necessary things including), for ourselves (even the clandestine expenses and escapades—heheheh), for many things…

Second, good health—we need all the strength to be healthy in marriage. In marriage, once the couple is happy, the couple needs all the energy in bed to be more happy. Once the couple is at war, much more the couple needs all the energy to dodge the throwing plates from each other; or perhaps to jump out of the sofa before a vase comes into you; more so to drop down the floor from the bed before a brooms hits your face while sleeping. The couple needs all the health they could get in marriage.

Third—the couple needs peace of mind after knowing one has betrayed the other; the couple needs peace of mind after one is knowingly in guilt of betraying the other; the one needs peace of mind after shooting the other during the so-called “betrayal act” or “caught in the act”.

Fourth—the couple needs all the blessings of commitment to stay focus on the responsibilities and obligations each has to each other and to the children. The wife perhaps needs to commit herself in catching the husband in the act with another partner. The husband may also need the commitment not to be caught by the wife and the commitment not to say a word even during interrogation and torture after being caught by the wife.

Fifth—the blessings of happiness. The couple needs all the blessings of happiness. The couple needs the blessing to stay happy in their entire marriage. The couple needs happiness after an almost separating experience.

Sixth—the blessings of perseverance no matter how the wife nags at the husband; the blessings of perseverance for the husband no matter how the wife denies the husband’s request for the “you know” at the middle of the night.

Seventh—patience is a blessing. The patience to understand each other for the sake of love. The patience to stay at home as an out-patient after getting hit by your wife’s hot frying pan during a cooking time heated discussion.

We need abundant blessings in marriage. And we need all the prayers we could get. Let us pray for each other.

Looking Back at Marriage as Newlyweds

There are times when we have to look back at the time when we newlyweds. Perhaps to evaluate how much love has gone or how much love has grown. Or to look back at those times as newlyweds to remember how love can conquer all odds. Perhaps to look back to see if we did the right decision to hold on to marriage. Perhaps to look back at marriage as newlyweds to decide whether it is worth holding on to marriage or not.

At this time when we have to look back, we remember places, events, and persons who have been in one way or another instrumental in our lives. We thank them deep in our hearts for supporting us in whatever way; we also forigve those who have cause us pain and in a way cause conflict between our partner in life.

There are times when we remember even our small dining furniture; well it is not about the furniture. It is more about memories that revolves around the dining furniture. Perhaps how much we save to buy that small furniture as newlyweds. Perhaps how much time you spend caring for each other, serving your love one or your love one serving you breakfast with that dining furniture.

Perhaps the dining furniture can remind you of how small and light it was for your wife to carry it and slam it on your face when you were caught cheating with another neighbor’s wife. Just those sort of memories…nothing serious, except for the stitches you get from the dining furniture.

See what I mean… there are many things to remember. And there are many things worth remembering.

You may remember the time when you surprised her with a birthday party. Hiring a caterer to prepare a cocktail party for the occasion. You may also remember those times when your wife had to leave you for a week; That was for being so drunk that you fell into the party cart of the caterer during her father’s birthday. Just memories like that… nothing serious except that you have to pay for the party cart.

Married Life Hoping for a Blessing

Most of the many fights in marriage can start with a simple small financial problem. From there heartaches can be triggered. Many say that marriage should be based on love and not on the financial status. But where is love when there is a quarrel between the couple. Yes, love might be still there. But once the financial problem could not be resolves; perhaps little by little love will move down the drain.

Is money everything in marriage? Of course not. Yet money is an important elements especially in our world today. And we need all blessings to keep a happy marriage. Blessings of fidelity, blessings of prosperity, and blessings of good health.

Marriage: Is it a Blessing or a Curse

Gosh! How many years are you married?

Is the agony longer than the years in marriage? GOsh, this is something I often think about. what is in marriage that eats up all the fun during courtship? What is in marriage that dries up all the leaves and flowers making you gloomy and sad? What is in marriage that makes a spouse bitter? Is it the financial aspect of marriage? Is it the fidelity of a spouse? Or is it just me!

These are question I have in mind. Thinking of how my marriage is running is far from the ideal. Is there really an ideal married life?

QUestions usually come up during marriage—not answers. How to live an ideal married life? Is there a secret?
